Vail sales tax continues to increase
February sales tax collections in the town of Vail were $2,780,501, up 7.9 percent from last year, bringing the ski season sales tax collections in town from November through February up 10.6 percent compared with last year.
The town’s real estate transfer tax collections through March 30 total $1,062,254, which is flat compared with the same time last year. About 44 percent of the real estate transfer tax collections came from the town’s major redevelopment projects, including Landmark, Manor Vail, Mountain View, the Ritz-Carlton Residences, Solaris and The Sebastian.
Parking revenue is down this winter, with November through February pass sales down $705,406 and daily parking revenues down $2,465,564. Parking transactions, however, are up 4.9 percent in Vail Village and down 3.7 percent in Lionshead.
