Vail sales tax jump in July
VAIL, Colorado ” Vail collected more sales tax in July than it has in any other summer month in the last decade.
The town got $1,309,448 in sales tax for the month, up 3.45 percent compared to last year.
Sales Tax Administrator Sally Lorton said she expects the town to collect another $67,000 in July sales tax, bringing the total to $1,376,448. That would be up 8.7 percent compared to July of last year.
March is generally the most lucrative month for sales tax collection. Last March, the town saw $3,322,065 in revenue.
Sales tax is the town’s top revenue generator.
