Vail seeks pro and con statements on conference center
VAIL – The town of Vail is asking people to send in statements for and against the proposed tax increase that will be on the Nov. 8 ballot to raise more money to build a conference center. The town will summarize the comments and send them to voters before the election, as required by law.Comments can be dropped off at the town of Vail office, e-mailed to Lorelei Donaldson at firstname.lastname@example.org, or sent by mail to Town Clerk, 75 South Frontage Road, Vail, CO 81657.The deadline for submissions is Sept. 23. The town is seeking a lodging tax increase to help fund construction and operation of a conference center. In 2002, voters approved a tax increase, but it didn’t raise enough money to build and operate the conference center. The vote , therefore, is essentially a do-or-die vote on the center.Vail, Colorado
