Vail seeks volunteers for recycling panel

VAIL, Colorado – The town of Vail, Colorado needs volunteers for an advisory group will help promote recycling and other ways of reducing waste, such as composting. The panel will also examine a program is which residents could be charged by the amount of trash they throw away.

A minimum of five community members will be appointed. Vail residents, employees or business owners will have priority in the town’s appointment process. The advisory group will meet five times over the next several months. Volunteers will also be asked to assist the town in organizing community workshops and possibly some field work.

No prior experience is necessary to serve on the advisory group. To apply, send a brief letter of interest no later than 5 p.m., Sept. 25, to Kristen Bertuglia, town of Vail environmental sustainability coordinator, at or mail or deliver the letter to the Town of Vail Community Development Department, 75 S. Frontage Rd., Vail, CO 81657. Appointments will be made on or before Sept. 29.
