Vail set to talk about Ever Vail on Tuesday

VAIL – An update on the status of the Ever Vail development applications will be reviewed by the Vail Town Council at its Tuesday meeting.

The Ever Vail development applications were submitted to the town of Vail in October 2008 by Vail Resorts Development Co., which set into motion a series of development review steps.

In October 2011, the Town Council took its first step in the review process and voted 6-1 to approve amendments to the Lionshead Redevelopment Master Plan to include the Ever Vail development area. The master plan recommendations include a mix of residential units, commercial, transit, maintenance facility, public parking and a gondola within the 12.6-acre property.

During recent discussions, the parties have agreed to suspend finalization of the development agreement and instead focus on the remaining Ever Vail development applications that require action by the Town Council. During Tuesday’s meeting, Chief Planner Warren Campbell will present an overview of the Ever Vail major subdivision request and three companion ordinances that will be considered for first reading by the Town Council at its Dec. 4 meeting.

A second reading would be scheduled for the Dec. 18 meeting. Approval would then allow for the applicant to relocate the frontage road, record the final plat and implement the zoning within the next eight years. For more information, go to http://www.vailgov.com.
