Vail skate park installation under way
VAIL — Reassembly of Vail’s skate park on the top deck of the Lionshead parking structure is taking place beginning this week and is scheduled to be ready for use on or before May 17.
This is the seventh year for the seasonal installation. The park’s elements were constructed by Hazard County Construction of Georgia and include a half-pipe, pyramid, multiple ramps, transitions, rails and banks, including features for younger or less experienced riders to hone their skills.
The skatepark will again be managed by the Vail Recreation District and will be open from dawn to dusk each day through mid-October. The VRD also will offer Skateboard Clinics on Tuesdays, 10 a.m. to noon, throughout the summer, beginning June 11. Look for more information about skateboard competitions once summer starts.
Helmets will be required for all park users; bikes and scooters are not permitted.
