VAIL, Colorado “-Snow should continue around Vail, Colorado today with another, strong spring storm moving in Thursday, the National Weather Service says.

Vail and Beaver Creek mountains reported 6 inches of snow Wednesday morning. Vail Mountain has received almost two feet in the last seven days ” with 14 of it coming Monday ” and Beaver Creek is reporting 18 inches in the last seven days.

Vail Mountain has received an above-average 355 inches of snow this season.

Mountain travel should become more difficult tonight as a storm moves in from the Pacific Northwest. By Thursday morning, six to 12 inches of snow is forecast for Vail, the Weather Service says.

Another foot of snow could fall by Friday morning, the Weather Service says.

High winds and blowing snow is likely to make travel over mountain passes hazardous, the Weather Service says.

The snow may taper off during the day Friday with a slight chance of snow remaining on Saturday. On Sunday, a “vigorous” cold front will bring strong, gusty winds and moderate amounts of snow to the mountains, the Weather Service says.
