VAIL, Colorado ” The Spa at the Sonnenalp Resort of Vail, Colorado is now offering magnetic resonance stimulation technology, according to Elizabeth Vadney, lead massage therapist at the Sonnenalp Spa. MRS helps enhance the effectiveness of treatments offered in the spa, relieve stress and aid in muscle healing and recovery after exertion, she said.
Dr. Joel Carmichael will present a free informaitonal session about MRS today beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Sonnenalp Resort of Vail. Try the MRS therapy from 6:30 to 7 p.m. A presentation will follow from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Dr. Carmichael is a dynamic speaker with extensive experience in sport and injury management and is currently publishing a book on magnetic resonance stimulation.
Magnetic resonance stimulation uses low intensity pulsed electro-magnetic field application that assists the body’s daily natural cleansing and repair cycle by optimizing the function and healing capacity of every cell, according to http://www.center4spine.com. It purports to increase oxygen absorption, aid in detoxification, stimulate metabolism, enhance nutritional absorption and increase bone density.
The Sonnenalp recommends adding a 25-minute session with the MRS to a massage to complement the treatment. Guests have also reported increased energy, better sleep and less muscle fatigue and soreness by relaxing on the MRS prior to or immediately after skiing.
The Sonnenalp Spa also offers a more targeted MRS probe for specific injuries or soreness such as tendonitis, lower back pain, tennis elbow and more. For information or to schedule an appointment, contact the Sonnenalp Spa at 970-479-5404.
