VAIL — The town of Vail will sponsor another installment of its Lunch with the Locals series at noon Wednesday, Aug. 23, at the Lionshead Welcome Center. Attendees will hear a presentation from Jeff Pieper of the Eagle County Colorado State University Extension discussing strategies for creating an attractive native landscape with minimal water needs that will attract pollinators and wildlife.
Experts from Walking Mountains Science Center, Eagle River Watershed Council and the town of Vail will be on hand to answer questions about what residents can do to help Restore the Gore. There will also be native seed mixes, stickers and informational brochures given away to attendees.
The town environmental sustainability team is organizing the event. For details about this and other upcoming activities, contact Pete Wadden, watershed education coordinator, at 970-479-2144 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
