Vail spring cleanup canceled this year due to COVID-19
People urged to clean up in their neighborhoods; town will have dumpsters available in May
The annual town of Vail community cleanup and large item pickup has been canceled for 2020 due to health concerns related to the COVID-19 virus. These events will resume in 2021. The hard-to-recycle day held each May will be rescheduled later this summer. Details will be available on the town’s website, http://www.vailgov.com, once details are confirmed.
If interested in still getting outside to clean up and beautify Vail, residents are encouraged to grab a trash bag and gloves from home and clean up around their own neighborhoods while maintaining social distance. Residents can dispose of collected trash in dumpsters provided by the town for this alternative cleanup effort from May 4-15 or until they are full, whichever comes first. The dumpsters will be located at the North Trail parking lot in West Vail, Ford Park parking lot and the East Vail parking lot just off Exit 180.
For more information on the spring cleaning activities, contact Beth Markham, the town’s environmental sustainability coordinator, at 970-479-2333 or email@example.com.
