Vail spring yoga practice designed to detoxify
VAIL – The Yoga Studio at the Vail Athletic Club invites you to add your body to your spring cleaning agenda with a detoxifying spring yoga practice led by local instructor Eric Lavigne from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.”Twist, Flow, Expand” will feature an emphasis on twisting postures, recognized as detoxifying poses in yoga, set within an uplifting flow that Lavigne says will “release the new energy we’re experiencing with longer, warmer days.”The studio traditionally offers a detox yoga class in the spring because the season is characterized by themes of birth and renewal, says studio coordinator Rachel Nelson,”Although we spend far more of our winter outdoors here in the Valley than people in other places, we still experience months of darkness and tend towards heavier, comfort foods,” Nelson says. “It’s time to wring out our systems and move into biking and hiking with, literally, spring in our step.”Lavigne has been a student and teacher of yoga and Buddhism for 10 years. The workshop is $20 for members, $25 for guests. The Yoga Studio at the Vail Athletic Club is located within the Vail Mountain Lodge & Spa, at 352 East Meadow Drive.
