Vail students make art out of open space
VAIL, Colorado Theres a colorful moose collage and a sun bathing caterpillar. Theres all sorts of flowers, leaves and critters.Student artwork of nature and open space seems fitting for the Eagle Valley Land Trust 2008-2009 calendar. All the artwork comes from Vail Mountain School, created by kindergartners, high school seniors and all the students in between. The Eagle Valley Land Trust is a nonprofit involved in preserving land in the Eagle River Valley. The group asked Vail Mountain Schools art department this fall to create art for a calendar that illustrated the natural beauty of the valley. This was not a planned exercise, but the students really rose to the challenge and created some beautiful pieces of art, said Nicole von Tempske, chair of the Vail Mountain School art department. For more information on the Eagle Valley Land Trust calendar or Vail Mountain School, please contact Director of Communications Emily Tamberino at (970) 476-3850 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
