Vail time capsule to be opened
VAIL — On Tuesday, Oct. 21, a time capsule that was sealed 25 years ago will be opened at the Vail Library.
In 1989, the year of the first World Alpine Ski Championship in Vail, the Vail Valley Foundation sealed a time capsule which has been housed in the Town of Vail Public Library ever since. The capsule, pictured, was sealed in honor of the championship medalists that year. Ceil Folz, director of the Vail Valley Foundation, and members of Vail Town Council will gather for the opening. The public is invited to attend, and light refreshments will be served.
The event will happen at 1 p.m. in conjunction with the start of the Vail Town Council meeting.
