Vail to consider pot shop moratorium
Vail, CO Colorado
VAIL, Colorado –The Vail Town Council Tuesday will consider an emergency ordinance to establish a 180-day moratorium on the processing of permits and licenses for medical marijuana dispensaries.
While the town’s current regulations prohibit the operation of medical marijuana dispensaries in Vail, a moratorium would enable the town staff, town attorney and the Town Council to investigate what authority the town has over medical marijuana dispensaries based on recent court decisions throughout the state.
n emergency ordinance requires a unanimous vote of those present or a vote of five council members, whichever is less, and becomes effective immediately upon passing. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the Vail Town Council Chambers, 75 S. Frontage Rd. The item is listed seventh on the agenda.
The public will be able to comment at the meeting or before the meeting by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Additional information is available by visiting agenda.vailgov.com.
