Vail to discuss cable franchise renewal
Vail, CO Colorado
VAIL, Colorado – The Vail Town Council will discuss consideration of renewal of the town’s cable franchise agreement at its regular evening meeting on Tuesday. The Comcast franchise discussion is listed fourth on the meeting agenda and public comments will be encouraged. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the Vail Town Council Chambers, 75 S. Frontage Road.
The current franchise agreement has been in place since 1995 when TCI Cablevision was the operator. The franchise is now held by Comcast.
During the meeting, a representative from Comcast will be present to discuss the franchise agreement and address the Town Council’s concerns. The current franchise has expired effective Jan. 4. However, there are provisions that provide for continuation of service on a month to month basis until a new agreement is reached.
Public comments in advance of the meeting may be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling the Town Council’s voicemail at 479-1860, ext. 8. Additional background regarding the franchise discussion may be found on the town’s website.
