Vail to open portions of Sun Up and Sun Down Bowls Wednesday, Nov. 30. 2006
VAIL ” Vail Mountain is set to open portions of Sun Up and Sun Down Bowls on Wednesday, Nov. 30 with access from High Noon Lift (Chair 5) and Sun Up Lift (Chair 17).
The recent cycle of snowstorms dropped a foot of snow in the past 48 hours at mid-mountain and the snow cycle continues with storms forecasted for mid-week and this weekend.
Year-to-date Vail has received 103 inches at the top of the mountain, more than 40 inches ahead of average for this time of year.- With the opening of Sun Up and Sun Down Bowls, Vail’s terrain grows to 2,439 acres with 21 lifts and 133 trails.
Skiers and snowboarders looking for the best first tracks into the bowls should check with Ski Patrol on which gates will be open on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2006.
The great snow also allowed the resort to open Highline Lift (Chair 10) for holiday skiers on Sunday afternoon. Adult lift tickets purchased at the window are $69 for adults, $59 for seniors and $49 for children.
