Ladies, listen up, Beaver Creek has an offering that’s just for you. The Women’s Social Ski Tour lets you ditch the guys and have some fun on the slopes with other like-minded and skill-minded women. This free tour provides a casual environment that is led by women from the Ski School Ambassador team. Guests enjoy a fun, relaxing atmosphere while building skills and confidence for the intermediate to advanced skier and snowboarder. Ladies gather at the base of the Centennial lift at 10:00 a.m. and the group takes off at about 10:15 a.m. This start time allows for morning ski school drop-offs for kids, a spa treatment or exercise time. The tour wraps up at noon, so ladies can still enjoy lunch with their families or if they’ve made a few friends on the tour, they can go to lunch with them. Lynn Siegel is a second homeowner in Arrowhead and has been participating in the Women’s Social Ski Tour since it began a few years ago. “I just love meeting new people. I met a group from San Francisco last year on the tour and we are meeting up again this year,” commented Siegel. “It’s also a great way to ski if you are by yourself for the day, no pressure, they are very accommodating to everyone who comes out here.” Although it is not a lesson, the Ambassadors do offer tips on technique. Maybe it’s pole placement, getting your weight forward or how to navigate the terrain for the conditions that day. “It’s a great group to go out with, especially in stormy conditions, you always have someone telling you the best terrain options and you feel safe on the mountain,” added Siegel. The tour concludes at the base of Centennial and the ladies get a goody bag full of incentives for shopping, spa and après ski activities. This complimentary tour happens Tuesdays through Fridays.
