Vail Town Council candidate forum scheduled for Tuesday
VAIL — The Vail Chamber & Business Association is hosting a Town Council Candidate Forum from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Donovan Pavilion, presented by the Vail Board of Realtors. The forum will provide an opportunity for each of the seven candidates to introduce themselves and field questions from panelists and the audience. The Vail Town Clerk’s Office has received and validated nomination petitions from seven candidates, including one incumbent, who have filed to run for the four open Vail Town Council seats in the Nov. 3 election. The deadline for submitting nomination petitions was Oct. 2. The ballot order is as follows:
• Dick Cleveland
• Mark Christie
• Kim Langmaid
• Dorothy “Doe” Browning
• Kevin R. Foley
• Jen Mason
• Ludwig “Ludi” Kurz
Kurz is the only incumbent up for re-election. Dale Bugby, who holds the other incumbent seat, has decided not to run again this year. The remaining two seats up for election are held by Mayor Andy Daly and Margaret Rogers. Both are term-limited and cannot run again. The forum is open to the public and all are encouraged to attend. Tony Mauro from KZYR The Zephyr will be moderating, and light refreshments will be served from FOODsmith.

In wake of deadly Vail Valley avalanche, tributes to Dillon Block and Cesar Almanza-Hernandez pour in
It has been a decade since Almanza-Hernandez graduated from Eagle Valley High School, and almost that long for Block. But inevitably, when a native son passes unexpectedly and tragically, folks tend to remember times spent together during their high school days.
