Vail Town Council candidate forum set for Sept. 26

The Vail Chamber & Business Association is hosting a Vail Town Council candidate forum from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 26, at Donovan Pavilion. The Vail Board of Realtors is presenting the forum, which will provide an opportunity for candidates to introduce themselves and field questions from panelists and the audience.

The Vail Town Clerk’s Office has received and validated nomination petitions from 10 candidates, including one incumbent, who have filed to run for the four open Vail Town Council seats in the Nov. 7 election. The deadline for submitting nomination petitions was 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 28. In alphabetical order, the candidates are:

  • Jack Bergey
  • Samantha Biszantz
  • Dave Chapin
  • Scott McBride
  • Reid Phillips
  • John Rediker
  • Christine Santucci
  • Brian Sipes
  • Jonathan Staufer
  • Dave Tucker

Staufer is the only incumbent up for re-election. Current council members Kim Langmaid, Kevin Foley and Jen Mason have termed out and are not eligible to run in this election. The forum is open to the public and all are encouraged to attend.  Mark Gordon, former Town Council member and local real estate broker, will be moderating. Light refreshments will be served.

For details, contact the VCBA at 970-477-0075 or info@vailchamber.org. The forum will be streamed live by High Five Media on Public Access and Facebook Live.
