Vail town picnics start Thursday
Vail, CO Colorado
VAIL, Colorado – The town of Vail, Colorado’s 10th annual neighborhood picnic series begins Thursday at Bighorn Park in East Vail. The second town picnic is Aug. 20 at Donovan Park.
At these picnics, residents can talk about community issues to members of the Vail Town Council and town staff. In addition, the town will give information on wildfire preparedness and will take appointments for free “Firewise” property assessments.
Each picnic will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and food and drink will be provided by the town on a first-come, first-served basis. The first outing will be hosted by the town council and the public works, fire and administration departments.
The town council will be joined by the community development and police departments during the Aug. 20 picnic. A third picnic in the series has been discontinued indefinitely until the town’s revenues improve.
In addition to the two neighborhood gatherings, citizens are also encouraged to share their ideas, concerns and suggestions at any time by calling the Vail Town Council voice mail at 970-479-1860, ext. 8. In addition, the town’s web site at http://www.vailgov.com includes information on town issues and projects, as well as e-mail links and phone numbers for all departments.
