Vail tries to free up parking in Lionshead
July 30, 2010
VAIL, Colorado – Parking availability in the Lionshead structure may improve over the weekend following efforts by the town to relocate neighboring employees after the structure filled to capacity several times earlier in the week.
Several construction crews from the Four Seasons hotel have been relocated to the village parking structure and employees of Vail Valley Medical Center are being asked to use newly released spaces within the hospital’s parking garage, which had been closed earlier this week for maintenance. That work has since been reconfigured to keep as many parking spaces open as possible at the hospital.
The town is experiencing a busy summer, with sales tax revenues up 21 percent in June compared to a year ago.- –
Town of Vail parking hosts will be working this weekend to help direct guests to available parking in Lionshead. In the event the Lionshead structure fills, vehicles will be redirected to the village structure with connections to Lionshead via the in-town shuttle.
