Vail Valley: Alpine Bank hosts ‘business transition and wealth transfer’ seminar

About 70 local business people and Alpine Bankers gathered Nov. 18 to learn strategies for business transition and wealth transfer to future generations. The seminar was co-hosted by Alpine Bank and Alpine Bank Trust and Asset Management. Speakers included:James W. Buchanan III, an attorney from the law firm Buchanan & Stouffer, P.C., of Lakewood, who discussed sophisticated wealth transfer strategies between generations, and tax-minimizing tactics to transfer large personal assets to beneficiaries. Christian K. Johnson, also Buchanan & Stouffer, focused on estate tax reduction planning. William E.
