Vail Valley: Avon police teach fraud protection

VAIL VALLEY Colorado – The Avon Police Department and accounting firm Eide Bailly will host a free seminar Wednesday from noon to 2 p.m. at the Avon Municipal Complex located at 1 Lake Street in Avon in Colorado’s Vail Valley. Lunch will be provided by Eide Bailly.
Guest Speaker, Doug Cash, from Eide Bailly’s Forensic Accounting and Investigative Services, will speak about how business owners can protect themselves against fraud and embezzlement. Cash is a 23-year-veteran detective of the Mesa Police Department in Arizona.
The seminar will offer tips for protection against fraud and employee theft. The National White Collar Crime Center estimates the cost of corporate fraud and white collar crime to be $1 trillion dollars annually.
