What goods or services do you provide? Hometrax is an online community of homeowners and service providers connected by social networking. Hometrax is a free service that enables homeowners to keep detailed records within a home profile and find local service providers through searches and community networking.

Service providers create service profiles that are displayed when users search for the services they offer. Service providers use Hometrax social networking to invite clients and benefit from our free marketing tools. We also support homes for sale or rent at no cost.

What’s new or exciting at your place? Hometrax is a new service and the first to provide a home-centric online community. We are learning from our users what works.

Recently we have started to collaborate with nationally branded real estate companies. We are rolling out in Denver and Southern California and are in discussions with some major media companies too, so we’re hoping to become much more well known.

We are hosting an introductory seminar at The Art Center in Gypsum at 9 a.m. on May 11. We hope to get more homeowners and businesses involved in our network, so please come. RSVP to Matt, 970-390-4333 or Amy, 970-977-0483

What strategy do you use to differentiate your business from your competition? Homeowners and service providers reach out to each other in a variety of ways in their communities. Like most businesses, word of mouth is a powerful differentiator and Hometrax is a word of mouth service.

Hometrax combines online tools that our users need into a single, free and easy to use system not available through any other service. We know our clients are busy and have their attention pulled in a lot of directions. We hope to help simplify things.

What philosophy do you follow in dealing with your customers? What can your customers expect from you? Hometrax relies on delivering a user experience that customers will talk about. At our core we connect a community, enabling the exchange of information and ideas, user-generated content that can be trusted by the community. Our philosophy is to provide an honest online environment and to be responsive to the communities that use our service.

Tell us a little about your background, education and experience: Matt is a longtime resident of the Vail Valley. Rick is a longtime resident of Seattle. Both founders are homeowners and service providers in their communities and recognized the need for a service like Hometrax.

What is the most humorous thing that has happened at your business since you opened? Hometrax started as an idea on a bar napkin in Hawaii and we launched our service in the middle of a snowstorm!
