What services do you provide? Mom’s Best Friend Agency places trusted household professionals in the homes of our clients in the Vail/Beaver Creek markets. We are a full-service household staffing agency, capable of responding to our clients’ needs while remaining personally involved in each placement. We place sitters, short-term and long-term nannies, housekeepers, personal assistants, household managers and chefs with our customers.

What can your customers expect from you? Our Vail/Aspen business is part of a team of Mom’s Best Friend agencies throughout the country. In years past, we have won awards for our excellent customer service. In fact, our Vail Sitters business was just awarded with the 2009 “Best of Vail” award from the U.S. Commerce Association. Our constant goal is to create secure and cherished relationships between families and their caregivers by selecting only experienced and committed candidates who have passed our rigorous screening process and receive the Mom’s Best Friend seal, our trademark of quality.

Tell us about your background, education and experience: I am originally from Cape Girardeau, Mo. I attended Southern Metidust University in Dallas, Texas, and was fortunate enough to spend family holidays in the Vail area.

My husband accepted a position with Vail Valley Medical Center seven years ago, and we moved here with our three children. As a mother, wife, and local businesswoman I saw a huge need for household staffing services in this area and founded Mom’s Best Friend Vail.

As working parents with three children, my husband and I know the dilemma every family faces — with laundry to wash, groceries to buy, dry cleaning to pick up and the workdays’ challenges swirling through your head, it can be a struggle to devote yourself fully to the most important people in your life and to the true joys of being in the Vail Valley. Mom’s Best Friend is run with the needs of families in mind. We know how important it is to have experienced professionals you can rely on at home.

We strive to maintain the highest caliber pool of candidates, arrange the best possible matches between candidates and clients, and support both with years of experience every step of the way.

What have you learned since launching your business or what advice would you have for others thinking about starting up a business in the Vail Valley? I would advise those investigating a business concept in the Vail area to stick with your passion, to take whatever you love and find a way to make it into a career. Keep a positive attitude, network with as many other businesses and individuals as possible, and enjoy each success! In my work with Mom’s Best Friend I’ve found that helping local people find great jobs is as rewarding as serving the needs of our clients — the families who own homes here. It’s important to stay connected with the people you serve – both the employee and client. If you truly care about what you do, you’ll be the best in your field and enjoy much success.
