At Sera Schools we provide a foundation that allows students to grow musically. What’s new or exciting at your place? At Sera Schools we have a number of new features including our new informative website, our new lesson registration system, e-mailed lesson reminders, automated bill paying, homework tools, and more. We are also very excited about the growth of our programs, which now serve students in the communities of Denver, Boulder, Montrose/Delta, and Fort Collins. We also now offer special discounts to all Sera Schools students for all instrument needs through our new partnership with Big Hollow Guitars. What strategy do you use to differentiate your business from your competition? As the first music program in Eagle County to ever offer cost-saving semi-private music lesson options, Sera Schools continues to be the local leader in comprehensive music instruction including top notch music recitals, awards systems to encourage and promote growth, progress reports, skills checklist, highly educated and classroom trained instructors, in-home and in-school conveniences, professional and personal customer service, online bill pay, weekly grades and homework e-mailed to parents, and more. Sera Schools is leading the Vail Valley toward rethinking the possibilities of what music lessons can and should be. What philosophy do you follow in dealing with your customers? What can your customers expect from you? At Sera Schools we take great care in finding the appropriate class for each musician. Once customers pre-register online, our scheduling coordinators contact each and every customer for a complimentary phone consultation. At Sera Schools customers can expect us to provide individual consultation and personalization unlike any other music education experience in the valley.Tell us a little about your background, education and experience: At Sera Schools, 90 percent of our instructors hold a bachelors degree or higher in music. In Eagle County our highly trained Sera Schools staff also includes certified music therapist, Yvonne Schwartz. Sera Schools founder Brita Fay holds her masters of music in Piano Performance from the prestigious Manhattan School of Music, and works as an adjunct professor at Colorado Mesa University. Additionally, every Sera Schools instructor receives continual training and mentoring in Brita Fay’s methods. What is the most humorous thing that has happened at your business since you opened? The most enjoyable experiences have been witnessing Sera Schools student recitals year after year. Students participating at these bi-yearly recitals continually teach us to remember why we love music as we watch the dangling feet of children unable to reach the floor from their piano bench sitting and playing some of the most recognizable notes. Amazing!
