What goods or services do you provide? Vogelman West Associates, Inc. is a full service masonry contracting and stone sales company. Our website outlines the range of masonry services that we offer in residential, commercial, industrial and governmental applications. We have completed work on many projects throughout Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, California and as far away as Japan and Sweden.

Our more notable projects in the Vail Valley include the Ritz Carlton in Bachelor Gulch, Vail Christian High School, The Vail Mountain School, Beaver Creek Plaza Pavers and One Willow Bridge Road, to name a few. A couple of our larger projects currently being constructed are the Ritz Carlton Residences and the Four Seasons hotel, both in Vail. We also have stone sales yards located in Edwards and Carbondale which are open to anyone. We can supply stone to virtually any location in the U.S. and internationally. We offer a wide variety of stone choices and handle many special orders.

What’s new or exciting at your place? We are in the process of upgrading our Edwards stone sales yard with more displays and samples. We are currently emphasizing outdoor living spaces and have some great ideas for spaces of any size, shape or terrain. Of particular interest have been barbecue surrounds, firepits, patios, paver stone applications and landscaping features. Now is a great time for adding improvements of this type. They add both value and enjoyment to your home.

What strategy do you use to differentiate your business from your competition? We work directly with owners, architects, design teams and project managers from pre-construction consulting through warranty periods to assure the successful completion each project. We give our full attention to each project no matter what size or complexity is involved. Our company is staffed with knowledgeable professionals who offer assistance and insight for any project.

What philosophy do you follow in dealing with your customers? What can your customers expect from you? Our philosophy is simple – we want happy customers. We accomplish this by being the best and most professional service company that we can be. After all, we are in a business where meeting customer expectations is paramount and we often find that we exceed expectations which leads to a high level of customer satisfaction. Our customers can expect us to give honest and complete assessments of their project or stone purchase. Our goal is to achieve the highest quality as well as value. Our customers can expect us to stand behind our work.

Tell us a little about your background, education and experience: It was Kurt Vogelman’s masonry experience in the 1970s that led to the creation of Vogelman West Associates, Inc. Over the 28 years that Vogelman West has been in business we have gained a wealth of experience which gives us the ability to offer distinctive touches and practical solutions to a great variety of stone and masonry projects.

What is the most humorous thing that has happened at your business since you opened? We have many humorous things that happen at our business. One example is that we like to peruse the Vail Daily and find pictures with our employees in them and post those pictures at our corporate office. The comments that eventually get written onto the pictures can be quite humorous. Overall, we believe that having fun with what we do promotes having happy employees who tend to do a better job because they truly enjoy their work.
