What goods or services do you provide? Remodeling, new construction, you-need-it-done services.

What’s new or exciting at your place? We’ve added a unique product to our services with Onyx Collection shower enclosures and bathroom products. We can remove your bathtub or old shower and replace it with solid surface walls and a custom shower pan without moving your existing drain location. The composite material is durable and comes in a variety of colors in either a matte or glossy finish. We even have several wall textures available. This saves money and time – you can have tear-out to finish in as little as two days.

What strategy do you use to differentiate your business from the competition? We’ve built high-end homes in Singetree, Beaver Creek and Vail. Before the current downturn in that market, we positioned ourselves through our sister company to handle the increasing demand to maintain homes through cabinet and wood restoration and minor repair work that every homeowner needs but bigger construction companies won’t do. We continue to look for products we can introduce to homeowners that will allow them to upgrade and renovate their homes and still fit their current budget.

What philosophy do you follow in dealing with your customers? Listen to the customer, share our ideas from years of experience and work with the customer for a well thought-out project to obtain the best results at the best prices.

What can your customers expect from you? Some contractors show up briefly, tear up your home and it can take weeks for them to return. Whether it’s a home repair or a home improvement, you want the job done right. We take pride in helping homeowners solve problems whether it’s a drafty door or how to increase space for expanding family needs. We’ve been renovating homes in this valley long before the recession and we plan to be here long after it’s over.

We work diligently to respect your home, your time and minimize the disruption. We will keep you informed on all aspects of the project. I have learned that communication is a key component to a successful project. We can achieve the best pricing, products and people to complete your project.

Tell us a little about your background, education and experience: I grew up in a small town in Maine near the Canadian border known for growing potatoes. I spent a lot of hours working the potato fields after school. It was hard work and is the basis of the work ethic I have today. I moved to the Vail Valley shortly after school, became a ski instructor and still teach some of the same families I started with.-

For 10 years I was the top sales manager for one of the most successful concrete supply companies in the valley. The experience I gained gave me the contacts and knowledge of the construction business to create WADEL Development 12 years ago.

What is the most humorous thing that has happened to you since you opened? We were recently commissioned to do a simple shower install, which normally takes a couple of days. We tore out the old tile shower and found that the sub-building materials were severely water damaged and needed to be dried out, mitigate the mold and re-inforced with new building products.-

After we left for the day, our customer got curious (as many customers do) and decided to inspect the damaged area for himself. He stepped right onto the exposed drywall and fell halfway through to the living room. I got a call at home that night notifying me that we needed to get the ceiling fixed before we could install the new shower. Thankfully, he wasn’t hurt, and we were able to fix the ceiling and complete the project without much delay.
