What goods or services do you provide? We created We Have Fun LLC to offer young professionals an alternative means for business and social networking. We are dedicated to providing professionally-run sport/bar leagues in Denver and Vail.
What’s new or exciting at your place? Registration is currently open for the Summer Co-ed Kickball League. Games will be held every Sunday at 6 or 7 p.m. in Eagle-Vail at Battle Mountain High School. The cost is $35 per person with a minimum of 12 people per team. Anyone who is new to the area can register as a free agent and we will find a team for you.
Every participant gets an official We Have Fun team T-shirt, a guaranteed eight-week season with the ninth week being playoffs, half-price appetizers, $6 burgers, $3 vodka drinks and $6 PBR pitchers at Paddy’s Sports Bar and Grill on league nights. In addition, championship teams get T-shirts that commemorate their victory.
Also, those interested in beer pong can join our beer-pong-alert e-mail list through our Web site.
What strategy do you use to differentiate your business from your competition? The competition limits itself to only one activity. We intend to offer a number of fun activities, from outdoor sports to indoor sports, and from bar leagues to bus trips to concerts and professional sporting events. We will organize any fun activity of interest to our participants.
What philosophy do you follow in dealing with your customers? What can your customers expect from you? We started We Have Fun because we were tired of lackadaisically run adult sports leagues. We were frustrated by umpires with no knowledge of the rules and league commissioners who couldn’t figure out how to efficiently communicate league news to all participants.
We want our league participants to have as much fun as possible. For that to happen, we always put the participants’ needs first, make sure our umpires are fair and knowledgeable, and provide an excellent two-way communication platform so our customers can find current league information and provide us with feedback.
Tell us a little about your background, education and experience: We both graduated from The University of Colorado at Boulder in 2002. There, we organized charity softball tournaments once a year to benefit a battered women’s shelter in Boulder. We built upon the knowledge we gained from organizing those tournaments to start We Have Fun.
What is the most humorous thing that has happened at your business since you opened? We were playing in a drop-in kickball game that we organized to help promote our Denver league. There was a deep fly ball hit to left field, where Matt was playing. He took off and started chasing down the fly ball. But he didn’t notice that the wind was carrying the ball closer and closer to the fence just in foul territory. At the last second he laid out and ran head-first into the fence. With his left arm stuck under the fence, he raised his right hand proudly holding the red rubber ball while yelling “I got it! I got it!” Once we found out he wasn’t seriously hurt, we began cracking up at the sight of him eating dirt!
A cash reward is being offered for information leading to locating Ryan Daniels. The local 19-year old man went missing May 22.
