Vail Valley briefs: Eagle candidates on TV

EAGLE, Colorado ” Did you miss the Eagle candidates debate? No problem. The event was filmed by Eagle County’s ECO TV station (channel 18), and will be shown twice more before the April 1 election.

The schedule is as follows:

– Thursday: 7 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.



– Friday: 6:30 p.m.

– Saturday: Noon

GYPSUM, Colorado ” The public can get a look at the new home of the town’s building department, assistant town manager and special projects department April 3.

Gypsum will show off its Town Hall Annex Building, at 3293 Cooley Mesa Road, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The property has been commonly referred to as “the log cabin next-to the ball fields.”

The town of Gypsum has added to its staff four positions: assistant town planner, engineering technician, special projects coordinator and sales tax auditor.

EAGLE-VAIL, Colorado ” Spellebration, the annual spelling bee for adults and fundraiser for The Literacy Project, is April 11 at the Eagle-Vail Pavilion.

Three-person teams are encouraged to register by April 1. The fee, which includes dinner, beer and wine, is $350.

There is a silent auction at the same time as the spelling bee. Spectators are welcome-and are requested to donate $20 per person for dinner and drinks.

The Literacy Project which provides free reading lessons to Eagle county youth and adults. The Literacy Project will find a spelling team for anyone who would like to donate $350 but doesn’t want to spell.
