EAGLE-VAIL Active Communications the largest AT&T authorized retailer on the Western Slope is celebrating its 12th year in the Vail Valley with a July 24 event at its Eagle-Vail store.The celebration, with a Caribbean theme, will be held July 24th from 3 7 p.m. with food and drink, promotions and prizes. KZYR will be there, and representatives from AT&T and Blackberry will also be on hand to demonstrate the latest technologies.Actives Eagle-Vail store is located in the Vail Daily building and has been open since June of 2007. AVON The Vail Valley Partnership has announced the panel for its second annual Vail Valley Business Forum at the Vail Cascade Resort and Spa July 24. Jane Wells, a Peabody award-winning journalist and senior business reporter from CNBC, will moderate the event and Harry Frampton, managing partner of East West Partners, will deliver the keynote address. The focus of the forum is to discuss issues facing valley businesses today and in the near-term with an emphasis on economic forces, green development, social and public policy issues and travel and destination marketing. AVON The Vail Valley Partnership has announced the hiring of Kelly McDowell, Rebecca Ruck and Ruth Carlson for the sales and marketing team. McDowell previously was a Realtor with Keller Williams. She also worked for four years as a top producer and sales manager with T-Mobile in Memphis. McDowell lives in Edwards and is a volunteer with organizations throughout the valley including Habitat for Humanity, Vail Valley Business Women and the Make a Wish Foundation. McDowell has been an ambassador for the partnership since 2005 and in her new position as partnership sales executive, will recruit new partners to the organization and oversee their integration into the organization.With experience in ad sales for KTUN and the Vail Daily, Ruck most recently was a district manager with Names & Numbers.
