Vail Valley company supports Aug. 14 ‘Kindness Challenge’

The Great Kindness Challenge (thegreatkindnesschallenge.org) is Aug. 14 and a Vail Valley-based company is involved.

Be Good to People of Eagle is supporting the event, which hopes to involve more than 1 million children this year.

From sunup to sundown, children around the world will accomplish simple, kind deeds using The Great Kindness Challenge Checklist. The checklist features 50 acts of kindness to choose from. The list can be downloaded at http://www.thegreatkindnesschallenge.org.

Be Good to People is distributing flyers and challenge checklists around the valley. Completed lists can be returned to the Be Good to People booth at the Minturn Market Aug. 14 or 21, or to the company’s office at 330 Broadway, Unit E (above Everyday Outfitters. A “completed” checklist will have at least 10 kind acts checked off (or get creative and write other acts of kindness completed on the back of the sheet) and will earn a kid a prize. Prizes will only be given out in person.

The person who brings in the challenge sheet with the most kind acts performed will receive a prize bag that includes Be Good to People items including a T-shirt, lunch cooler and and $25 donation to Kids for Peace in the winner’s name. The retail value of the package is more than $125.
