Vail Valley Dems plan inauguration party
Vail, CO Colroado
VAIL VALLEY, Colorado – “Change is Coming” is the theme of an inaugural party being thrown by the Vail Valley Democrats and Dish Restaurant in Edwards, Colorado on Jan. 20, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Drinks, appetizers, music, dancing, and a silent auction will be part of the evening’s festivities as the Eagle County Democratic Party celebrates the inauguration of Barack Obama as the 44th president of the United States. Tickets for this commemorative event are $45 per person, which includes the food and two drinks.
Everyone is invited to the “Change is Coming” party but space is limited and reservations are required. Call Dish Restaurant for reservations, 970-926-3433.
“It has been a long eight years and we are excited for the positive change that President Obama will bring to our nation and the world,” said Carole Onderdonk, Eagle County Democrat co-chair. “Obama’s presidency is a milestone for this great country, one that deserves a huge celebration of hope and change. Also, many people worked endless hours to help with the election here in Eagle County and this party is a thank-you to them.”
Over 200 volunteers worked on the Obama campaign, she said.
Eagle County Democrats have set up a scholarship fund for volunteers who cannot afford the ticket. Those who would like to buy a ticket for a hard-working volunteer, or contribute to the scholarship fund, can send a donation to Eagle County Democrats, P.O. Box 3686, Eagle, CO, 81631. Those in need of a scholarship are asked to apply in writing to the Eagle County Democrats at the same address.
