Vail Valley: Dowd Junction rec path open

VAIL, Colorado ” The Dowd Junction recreation path has reopened for the summer season.
Town of Vail crews have cleared the path and installed the wildlife protection screen. Other sections of recreation path within Vail that are not maintained in winter will reopen as conditions allow, with all paths expected to be cleared by early May.
Reconstruction also has resumed on the Katsos Ranch recreation path. Sections of the Katsos path have not yet been plowed due to high avalanche danger and users should expect periodic delays or closures. The project is a targeting a June completion.
The Vail Pass recreation path, which is maintained by the Colorado Department of Transportation, is scheduled to open by Memorial Day weekend.
