Vail Valley: Eagle County Building Department launches permit ‘holiday’
Vail, CO, Colorado
In an effort to spur smaller-scale home improvement projects this summer in the Vail Valley, the Eagle County Building Department is offering a building permit “holiday.” From July 15 through Aug. 15, the department will waive an applicant’s first $500 of building and plan review fees for improvement projects to single family and duplex units. The reduced-fee permits will apply to properties in unincorporated Eagle County and are valid for 180 days.
Qualifying projects include interior remodels, basement remodels, replacement of exterior stucco or siding and roof repair and replacement. All plan submissions must be complete in order to qualify. The reduction does not apply to any other permits required such as electrical or plumbing permits.
The reduced-fee permits will not be available for new homes, garages or additions; nor to projects requiring engineering review and structural modifications. Also excluded are building permits already applied for or issued, or work in progress or completed without a building permit.
For more information, call the Eagle County Building Department, 970-328-8730.
