Vail Valley: Eagle River Meadows hearings continue June 8 in Edwards
The Eagle County Commissioners will continue a series of hearings to review the sketch plan application for the Eagle River Meadows Planned Unit Development proposal at a meeting in Edwards next week. The meeting is set for June 8 at 5:30 p.m. in the Battle Mountain High School auditorium. The application and staff report, as well as video from the May 25 commissioner meeting on Eagle River Meadows, are available for review online at http://www.eaglecounty.us. The proposed development is located on the former B&B gravel mine site, just west of the Eagle River Preserve in Edwards. The 105-acre proposal includes 380 free market and deed-restricted housing units, as well as approximately 261,000 square feet of medical, wellness, office and related commercial uses. In addition, the proposal includes preservation of 68 acres of open space, new public trails and public fishing access. Sketch plan review is the first of a three-part review and approval process for development proposals. The sketch plan application has been in the review process with the county’s planning commission since January. The planning commission completed its review of the file April 21 and gave a unanimous recommendation for approval, with conditions. If the sketch plan is ultimately approved, the applicant will have two years in which to apply for and obtain a preliminary plan approval.
