Music at the Minturn SaloonThe Minturn Saloon hosts its summer deck music series beginning today at 6 p.m. Scotty Kabel will be playing at the Saloon on Saturday evenings this summer, rain or shine. Kabel has been the lead guitarist and one of the founders of Little Hercules, Bonfire Dub and the Minturn Express. His music runs the gamut of acoustic-based rock, blues and reggae. “Come on down and have some fun with us. You never know which of my musician buddies is going to be sitting in with me, so the sound may be a little different each Saturday,” Kabel said. First Vail Farmers’ MarketThe first Vail Farmers’ Market and Art Show of the season takes place Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Vail Village. There are a total of 125 vendor tents for attendees to explore, including fresh vegetables galore from Colorado farms. New this year, popular valley restaurants Sweet Basil, Larkspur, Terra Bistro and Atwater will offer food. Bravo!’s instrument petting zoo will keep the youngsters entertained Sunday along with a bouncy house, mechanical-bull riding, a roving face painter and more. The market is expanding beyond Meadow Drive onto Willow Bridge Road, so there will be a new area for visitors to explore. The Tommy Shreve Band will entertain market visitors from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. today.
