VAIL — For four years, a beautiful trail hike and gourmet food have combined to create a distinct fundraising event known as Trek to Table on Beaver Creek Mountain.
Now in its fifth year, the Trek to Table concept is the same, but the location and length of the hike are different, as the event moves to Vail Mountain on Sunday, July 31. Tickets are $150, and the shorter, four-mile hike begins at 9 a.m. from the base of Vail Mountain.
Granola, fruit and refreshments greet hikers at the base of Gondola One at Vail Mountain as the day begins. Hikers are then rewarded with views of Vail and the Gore Range as they make their way toward a gourmet lunch and libations at The 10th restaurant at Mid-Vail. Those who wish to skip the hike can also attend and access lunch via Gondola One.
Trek to Table supports the Vail Valley Foundation’s general fund.
“Participating in Trek to Table is a way to support everything that we do, from the Vail International Dance Festival to YouthPower365 education programming to supporting the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater, the Vilar Performing Arts Center, Birds of Prey World Cup or the GoPro Mountain Games, Hot Summer Nights or ShowDown Town,” said Robin Thompson, vice president of membership and development for the Vail Valley Foundation.
“It really helps us in all areas of our mission to provide leadership in arts, education and athletics.”
DANCE FESTIVAL PACKAGE
The Foundation is also packaging the event with the Vail International Dance Festival performance of BalletX this year. The package includes one Trek to Table ticket and one BalletX lawn ticket that same evening for a cost of $155.
“This is a wonderful way to go on an adventure right in the heart of Vail, while also giving back to the community,” Thompson said. “This year’s shorter route and alternative options make the day accessible to all.”
