Vail Valley: Gourmet on Gore wins ‘Celebrate Green!’ award

Gourmet on Gore, an open-air tasting of wine, beer and spirits and food in the Vail Valley, is being honored by the town of Vail with the second “Sustainable Special Event” award for hosting an environmentally conscious event.

The award is part of the Town of Vail’s new “Celebrate Green!” program that requires event producers to complete a points-based checklist. The award includes a reduction up to $250 in town permitting fees and provides events signs that announce the achievement.

Gourmet on Gore was recognized for outstanding effort in using sustainable practices at the 2009 event.
