SUMMIT COUNTY, Colorado” Vail Valley residents Dustin and Annemarie Lombard and Alison Buchholtz, and New York friend Jane Atherton, walked around Lake Dillon last month to make a contribution of battle against breast cancer.

Sponsored by local restaurants Larkspur and Larkburger, the group participated in the Avon Walk Rocky Mountains on June 28. Each team member was required to raise a minimum of $1,800. There also was a month-long benefit at Larkspur Restaurant in Vail, where 2 percent of all sales during May was donated to the Avon Foundation.

The team walked 26 miles around Lake Dillon to a ‘wellness village’ overnight camp near Summit County Middle School. In the morning, after a buffet breakfast, the team walked another 13 miles to Breckenridge.

The Avon Walk Rocky Mountains raised $3.3 million. For more information, visit
