VAIL, Colorado –The creativity of Vail Valley high school students will be on full display at Loaded Joe’s in Avon Monday night. A poetry jam celebrating the third edition of Spilled Ink, Battle Mountain High School’s resurrected literary-arts publication, will take place at the coffee shop from 6 to 9 p.m. Students will read their work aloud and copies of Spilled Ink will be available for purchase.

“The muses are alive and at work, inspiring writers and artists at Battle Mountain to explore their relationships with the world and themselves,” wrote Dana Zilliox, an English teacher at the school who heads up the publication, in the magazine’s foreword. “By purchasing this collection, you prove that these talents should not be ignored. Thank you for joining a community that recognizes the breadth of creative voices speaking through these pages.”

The artwork and writing featured in the book represent a fraction of the submissions Spilled Ink! received throughout the school year, Zilliox said.
