Vail Valley kickball tourney to benefit Small Champions

Vail Daily staff report
Vail, CO Colorado

VAIL VALLEY – Evans Chaffee Construction Group’s annual Kickball Classic fundraiser will benefit Small Champions, a Vail Valley organization providing sporting activities for disabled Eagle County children.

Small Champions is a grass roots charitable foundation providing programs for young children with such diverse disabilities as cerebral palsy, down syndrome, blindness and autism. Programs include skiing and snowboarding, swimming, horseback riding, rock climbing and golf. More information can be found at http://www.smallchampions.org.

“It is important for us to give back to our community regardless of current business conditions,” says Chris Evans, partner and vice president of Evans Chaffee Construction Group. “The Kickball Classic is one of the company’s top priorities as it enables us to help very deserving and usually underfunded charitable organizations and have fun with our entire community at the same time.”

Since beginning the Kickball Classic in 2002, Evans Chaffee has donated proceeds to a wide variety of groups serving needs in Eagle County, including CASA, First Descents, Success at Six, Meet the Wilderness, Samaritan Center, The Youth Foundation, Vail Valley Charitable Fund and others. Total funds donated are well over $100,000. Sponsoring partners for this year’s event include platinum sponsor Icon, Inc. and breakfast and lunch Sponsor LaFarge.

This year’s event will take place on Aug. 14 at the Eagle-Vail Pavilion and surrounding fields. For more information visit http://www.evanschaffee.com or e-mail Katie Vernon at kvernon@evanschaffee.com.
