VAIL, Colorado – The charming tale of Pinocchio, the wooden puppet who longed to become a real, live boy, comes to life this Saturday, when Vail Valley kids with the Missoula Children’s Theatre perform the classic tale in Minturn.

The cast of local students spent a week rehearsing the musical in order to prepare. Luke Vlaar, who plays the roles of Urchin and Candlewick Crew, said, “Pinocchio is hard work but fun and I only have one week to study quite a lot of lines and then I have to perform them in front of a lot of people.”-

“The play is really fun because the directors are nice and everyone is fun to be with,” added Amy Hixon, who plays Pinocchio.

The Missoula Children’s Theatre is the nation’s largest touring theater for children and toured extensively for 35 years from Montana to Japan. Directors Joe Godburn and Steven Thomas, are pleased with how the young actors and actresses are progressing.-

“They are right on track and having fun with their parts,” Godburn said.
