Vail Valley libraries offer teen summer reading program

VAIL, Colorado –Teens –come to Vail Valley libraries this summer for six weeks of ocean commotion! Anyone going into 6th through 12th grade is welcome to join the summer reading program, called “Make Waves @ Your Library.” Teens are invited to the libraries to take part in special events at the Avon, Eagle and Gypsum Public Libraries on Thursdays at 3:30 p.m., or to read independently and earn prizes.

The six-week program will kick off with a beach party bash Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at all three libraries. Head to the Avon, Eagle or Gypsum Public Library to make sand art, play beach games and sign up for summer reading.

Special weekly events this summer include Wii watersports competitions, watercolor and pottery painting, beach volleyball and water games, and special movie screenings. The “Make Waves @ Your Library” teen summer library program is sponsored by the friends of the Eagle Valley Library District.
