Vail Valley: Man, woman fight over woman
Vail, CO Colorado
VAIL VALLEY, Colorado –Police received a call about a fight in an Vail Valley apartment complex on May 9.
When officers arrived at the Edwards complex they talked to a 19-year-old man who said he was at his girlfriend’s apartment when her ex-girlfriend, 21, banged on the door.
The 21-year-old woman wanted to speak to the man’s 22-year-old girlfriend outside. When the man’s girlfriend went outside to talk to her ex, the man yelled at the woman to go away and leave his girlfriend alone. The man threw a child’s toy at the woman, who blocked it with her forearms. The woman then walked up to the man, punched him twice in the face and head-butted him. Police noticed the man had a few scratches and a bump on the forehead.
The woman told police she went to the apartment because she was visiting a friend there and saw the man’s car parked outside. She said she wanted to tell the man’s girlfriend that he didn’t treat her right and warn her about his temper. She told police that the man provoked her to hit him after he threw the toy.
The man’s girlfriend confirmed the events and that she used to date the woman but they broke up in January. Both the man and his girlfriend’s ex-girlfriend wanted to press charges against each other. The man was charged with harassment and the woman with assault.
