Vail Valley Medical Center board elects new chair, members
Vail, CO Colorado
VAIL, Colorado – Vail Valley Medical Center board of directors has a new chairman and two new members.
Charlie L’Esperance is the new chair, and Dick Cleveland and Chris Jarnot have joined the board as members.
L’Esperance is a long-time board member and has served as the chairman of the Quality Committee. He is CEO of Resort Technology Partners, LLC, which was recently acquired by Active Network, Inc. RTP provides technology solutions to resort and recreation customers in the Vail Valley, as well as internationally. He has over 30 years of experience in hospitality, travel and resort technology.
Andy Daly, who sat on the board for eight years, has stepped down. He recently assumed the role of Vail’s mayor.
“Andy has been an exceptional board member, providing eight years of wisdom, integrity, professionalism and dedication,” said Ron Davis, outgoing board chairman and chairman of Vail Health Services. “We would not have reorganized VVMC to its current level of financial, organizational and patient care excellence without his dedication.”
Davis has served as the chairman of the VVMC board since 2006 and the newly formed Vail Health Services board of directors. Davis will step down as chairman of the VVMC board – the operating board of the medical center – but will still lead the medical center as chairman of the Vail Health Services board, which guides the hospital’s strategy, community outreach and long-range planning.
Cleveland is a former mayor of the town of Vail, and Jarnot is chief operating officer for Vail Mountain.
“Both of these men are civic leaders of our valley, striving to make this community stronger,” Davis said. “As a nonprofit community medical center, they will help drive this organization to serve our community and continually grow.”
Cleveland, a Vail resident since 1978, worked as an officer with the Vail Police Department for many years and recently served four years as the town mayor. He is currently the chief investigator of the Fifth Judicial District Attorney’s Office and chairman of the Eagle Country Trail Committee.
Jarnot, who joined Vail Resort in 1989, began in marketing but has held many positions within the company. In 2003, he became the vice president of marketing and in January 2008, added chief operating office to his title. He also currently serves on the board of directors of the Vail Valley Foundation.
“I feel so fortunate to have such supportive and dedicated boards to support the VVMC leadership team,” said Doris Kirchner, president and CEO of Vail Valley Medical Center. “Their guidance in providing excellent healthcare to our community is our No. 1 priority, and electing Charlie as a chairman, as well as adding our new members, will advance us in that mission.”
Vail Valley Medical Center is a nonprofit community hospital that has served Eagle County since 1965.
