Vail Valley Medical Center lowers urgent care prices
VAIL — To counter rising health care costs in the mountain communities, Vail Valley Medical Center has announced a more affordable pricing model at their urgent care locations in Avon and Gypsum.
“As health insurance has changed in recent years, our patients have expressed dissatisfaction and frustration with our urgent care pricing,” said Vail Valley Medical Center President and CEO Doris Kirchner. “We’ve heard you and have set out to reduce our urgent care prices while still providing high quality patient care 365 days a year.”
Open year round, Avon Urgent Care is located next to the City Market in Chapel Square, and Gypsum Urgent Care is across the street from Costco. The clinics are able to handle illnesses like colds, coughs, fever, flu symptoms, respiratory or urinary infections, stomach illnesses, dehydration and ear, eye, nose and skin irritations. The clinicians can also take care of minor cuts, scrapes, minor burns and sprains. The clinics serve pediatrics to geriatrics.
The medical center encourages those with health insurance to contact their insurance providers for details on their urgent care coverage. In addition, those with or without health insurance can call VVMC’s Support Team at 970-777-2902 for information and cost estimates.
Based on community feedback and patient volumes, Gypsum Urgent Care will open one hour earlier on weekdays and will close earlier on weekends, beginning Tuesday (10 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Friday; 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday-Sunday, 365 days a year). Avon Urgent Care hours will remain the same (8 a.m.-8 p.m, 365 days a year).
