VAIL, Colorado ” The more than 61,000 people who attended Bravo! music festival concerts in Vail, Colorado spent $1.6 million more in the Vail Valley than they did last year, organizers say.

Nearly $11 million dollars was spent in the Vail Valley on concerts, hotels and meals, say organizers of The Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival.

Each summer the festival conducts a marketing survey of its audience. The study also found that $906,823 was collected in taxes as a result of the concerts.

The study calculated money spent on hotels, meals and the concerts themselves.

In the study’s survey of 501 concert-goers, it found about 27 percent of them were in Vail on vacation. Nearly 60 percent of those visitors said the music festival was a big reason they came to Vail. Those visitors spent an average six nights in Vail and spent $163 per person per night. Overall, the visitors spent about $9 million.

Based upon this same survey, 48.5 percent eat in restaurants on concert nights, spending an average of $55 a night. Eating out accounted for about $1.1 million.

About $730,000 was spent on food and drinks at the concerts.
