Vail Valley: Officer says he recognizes restricted driver
Vail, CO Colorado
VAIL VALLEY, Colorado –On May 11, an officer was driving southbound on Post Boulevard in Avon when he recognized a pickup truck that was registered to a man with revoked driving privileges traveling in the opposite direction.
The officer turned around and followed the truck into the Wal-Mart parking lot, where he parked a short distance away and watched a man exit the vehicle. The officer confirmed the registration and that the owner’s license was revoked for multiple alcohol offenses. The man returned to the truck and the officer followed him home.
The deputy waited to turn on his emergency lights until the man parked at his residence so that the truck would be parked safely off the highway. The officer contacted the man, who immediately said, “You got me.”
The 39-year-old man was taken into custody and booked into jail for driving while his license was under restraint.
