Vail Valley: Park Hyatt Beaver Creek welcomes new general manager
Robert Purdy, most recently general manager of the Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center, has been named general manager of the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort and Spa.
A long-time Vail Valley property-owner, skier/snowboarder, cyclist and outdoor enthusiast, Purdy lived in Vail in the mid-1980s and is thrilled to return.
With a 25-year tenure with the Hyatt Corporation, Purdy has been involved in sales, marketing and operations at many of the company’s hotels, including a stint at corporate headquarters, where he was vice president of sales for all Hyatt Resorts.
Most recently, Purdy headed the 451-room Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center.
“I am thrilled to join the magnificent team of professionals at Park Hyatt Beaver Creek,” Purdy said. “This is a tremendous place at the center of one of North America’s most luxurious and family-friendly mountain resorts and the commitment to excellence is evident throughout.”
Purdy is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology where he earned a Bachelor degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. He and his wife, Karen have triplets, age 16.
